What Does Hesed Mean?
Origin: Hebrew · Meaning: Kindness, loving-kindness, love, charity
Borrowed from the biblical chesed, meaning “kindness” or “loving-kindness,” hesed is a word that truly grabs the good-hearted.
James 2:14-17
Faith and Deeds
14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them?
15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food.
16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?
17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
Good morning. My name is Henio Wilfredo Perez Guerrero. I’m from Guatemala, and I would like to tell you a part of my story.
When I was very young, I roamed the streets of Antigua trying to make money. My family was very big, so we all needed to go out and work to survive. Starting at the age of 8, I used to take care of vehicles and guide tourists to make money for my family. There was a group of us young kids growing up together. I've always said tourists helped change my life for the better.
Now, I have a family—a wife and kids—a home, and a job. Thanks to God, we are doing well.
I am telling you this because there are many families here in Guatemala, still in poverty with stories similar to mine, who could use your help just as I was helped. It would be a great blessing for you to use your blessings to help more families here who desperately need it. As you know, God always multiplies what you give. God has put it in the hearts of many people, and in this organization, to help the Guatemalan people.
So, I would like to invite you to help in God's work for the people here in Guatemala. Recently, we've had numerous earthquakes and eruptions. Our volcano has been very active, and many people will benefit from your help.
I would like you to join this organization to help those most in need.
God bless you all.
